Centrale de la Première-Chute (Hydro-Québec)
Treat your family to a free tour of the Première-Chute hydroelectric power station, the only facility open to the public in Abitibi-Témiscamingue! Proudly located on the Ottawa River, the power station was commissioned in 1968. In the company of our guides, you’ll discover an exhibition focusing on the history of hydroelectricity in the region, and a model of the turbine-generator unit for children and adults! During your visit to the power station, you’ll be able to see the ballrace, the spillway with ¨paupière¨ gates, the transformers and the turbine-generator units. Exciting stuff!
