Today, we\u2019re hitting the road to explore the western festivals and professional rodeos of Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue.

Unmissable western festivals in Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The festivals in La Sarre, Malartic, and Saint-Bruno-de-Guigues share a lot in common. Thanks to tight-knit communities and armies of devoted volunteers, these events turn small towns into major western hubs for a few unforgettable days. From country music to equestrian competitions, they showcase the full spirit of Qu\u00e9bec rodeo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Festival \u00e9questre et rod\u00e9o professionnel de La Sarre \u2013 Abitibi-Ouest<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The season kicks off from June 18 to 22 with the Festival \u00e9questre et rod\u00e9o professionnel de La Sarre.<\/a> The program is extensive\u2014most of it free, except for the rodeo itself.

What sets La Sarre apart? The scale of the schedule, mostly free of charge. Think western bingo, kids\u2019 play zones, line dancing, shows, and more. The exclusive highlight? Rock\u2019n\u2019Bull<\/em>, a third rodeo dubbed the perfect mix of bull riding and rock concert. Now that\u2019s a show!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Festival Western de Guigues: Over 40 Years of Country Tradition in T\u00e9miscamingue<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Next stop: Saint-Bruno-de-Guigues, August 5 to 10, 2025. For over 40 years, the Festival Western de Guigues<\/a> has been a well-oiled tradition. Centered around the village\u2019s coliseum, its schedule includes gymkhana, kids\u2019 rodeo school, rally, family zone, and more.
It\u2019s a paradise for country fans\u2014with a musical lineup to prove it!
Francis DeGrandpr\u00e9, David Pineau, Rick Duff, Tennessee Whiskey\u2026 Qu\u00e9bec\u2019s country cream of the crop will be there to entertain 15,000 festivalgoers. Yes, in a village of just 1,140 residents. That\u2019s the western spirit: grand and intimate all at once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Malartic: Pro Rodeos and Cowboy Challenges in Vall\u00e9e-de-l\u2019Or<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From August 13 to 17, 2025, head to Malartic for another rodeo must-see in Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue. The Festival Western de Malartic<\/a> opens with a cheerful Souper du cowboy<\/em>, followed by a whirlwind of events: heavy horse pull, carriage derby, Cowboy Challenge<\/em>, live shows, gymkhana with AERWAT\u2026 it\u2019s all here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On stage: Guylaine Tanguay, Sara Dufour, This Side Up, and Justin Legacy will keep the party going. A festival where tradition meets adrenaline.
