So it seemed like a good idea to offer you a sort of \u201cbest of\u201d in the form of a Frequently Asked Questions post that is as informative as it is fun&#8230;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, drum roll, please&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tada! Welcome to our Snowmobile FAQ&nbsp;:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Q: Where can I get a Qu\u00e9bec snowmobile trail pass?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A: Residents of Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue should buy their trail pass directly from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abitibi-temiscamingue-tourism.org\/snowmobile\/snowmobiling-clubs\/\">snowmobile clubs<\/a> in the region. Visitors can get their trail pass several ways: directly through the Web site of Tourisme Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abitibi-temiscamingue-tourism.org\/snowmobile\/trail-permits\/\">Trail Permit&nbsp;section<\/a>, by telephone at 1 800-808-0706, from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abitibi-temiscamingue-tourism.org\/snowmobile\/trail-permits\/\">sales outlets in Ontario<\/a> or directly from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abitibi-temiscamingue-tourism.org\/snowmobile\/snowmobiling-clubs\/\">snowmobile clubs<\/a> in the region..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Q: Do I need civil liability insurance to ride snowmobile trails in Qu\u00e9bec?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A: No. When you by your trail pass, snowmobilers who belong to the FCMQ are automatically covered by a $1,000,000 civil liability insurance policy. By including this insurance in the cost of the trail pass, the FMCQ protects each of its members in case of an accident. But that doesn\u2019t mean you should go wild&#8230; Safety first!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Q: Can I get a refund if I already have civil liability insurance?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A: If you\u2019re a resident of Qu\u00e9bec, the answer is no. Visitors to Qu\u00e9bec who already have civil liability insurance can get a refund on part of the price of their annual trail pass ($45) by following the procedure in the insurance document that comes with the pass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Q: What\u2019s the minimum age to operate a snowmobile on Qu\u00e9bec trails?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A: The minimum age to operate a snowmobile on Federation network trails is 16 years of age. So the young\u2019uns may have to wait a bit. Snowmobilers aged 16 to 18 must hold a certificate confirming they have the knowledge necessary to operate a snowmobile. For more information, visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/fcmq.qc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Web site of the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration des Clubs Motoneigistes du Qu\u00e9bec<\/a> (French only).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Q: What are the main access routes to the region by snowmobile?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A: From Qu\u00e9bec City, the main trails to get to the region are 93 to Lebel-sur-Qu\u00e9villon, 83 to Clova, 63 to Domaine and 43 to Rapide des Joachims. From Ontario, points of entry are from North Bay, New Liskeard, Kirkland Lake and Cochrane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Q: Where can I get an Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue snowmobile trail map?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A: There are three ways to get a free trail map mailed directly to you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Call <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">1 800-808-0706<\/span>, and Ann will be happy to take your address.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Through the Tourisme Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue Web site in the <a href=\"https:\/\/abitibi-temiscamingue.org\/en\/informations\/documentations-brochures\/\" class=\"ek-link\">Publications section.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>By signing up for the Tourisme Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue <a href=\"https:\/\/abitibi-temiscamingue.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"ek-link\">snowmobile newsletter<\/a> and checking the appropriate box.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>So there\u2019s no reason to make do without a snowmobile trail map!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Q: When does the season start?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A: To plan a stay in the region with the best chances of top conditions, we suggestion you book from January 15th onward. Of course, conditions are often spectacular before that date, but you\u2019d be taking your chances&#8230;!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Q: Is the region well-served in terms of amenities (gas, dealers, hotels)?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A: Yes! The region has all of the amenities you need to enjoy snowmobiling \u2013 and plenty of them. However, it\u2019s still smart to check the distance between gas stations on some regional trails, for example on trails 396 and 386. The various amenities available are indicated on the trail map, which is updated yearly. You\u2019ll also find this information on the Tourisme Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue Web site, including all of the <a href=\"https:\/\/abitibi-temiscamingue.org\/en\/packages\/snowmobile-packages\/\" class=\"ek-link\">special packages for snowmobilers<\/a> in the region.
